My World is a Stage(I'm the Actress)

I look around me and want to cry
As I pass all the staring eyes
Each day I'm on the stage ready to act
It's like depression and I have made a small pact

I let it stay hidden
As long as it lets me smile
Just until I'm alone
Just for a little while

I feel the tears begin to brew
And I know there's nothing I can do
Except keep on walking till they go
So no one will ever get to know

I travel through my days alone
My heart is cold and covered in stone
Yet my head is up and my smile is wide
But there's such pain buried inside

I lock my thoughts up
And I feel myself drain
Soon I'll be numb
And no longer feel pain

My laughter fools you everyday
No one can tell I'm not ok
I am an actress, I am a star
I act so happy, but I've fallen so far..

    Wow this poem was so good! i can relate to it so much. i found a quote the other day "ill just smile and pretend everythings ok" which is the message u were saying in this poem. many people cant express how they are feeling. keep up the great work. - em

    This is so well written. Infact, it's how I feel a lot of the time. But, I try to keep my head held up high, and not let things bother me. Only, that doesn't seem to work sometimes. Take care. -Jessie
