These Years

by Mel   Dec 3, 2006

Just young kids walking,
kicking up the sand.
letting the sunset sink
into our hearts and our hands
clasped together, holding on
to our dying years
and teenage fears
of growing up
and moving on
of screwing up
and getting it wrong.
Holding tight
to these times
where nothings right
but every things fine.
Where little things matter,
where hearts can shatter,
then be fixed
by a single glance
where its ok to mess up,
its called a second chance,
With friends forever
and little love notes
with laughter and smiles
and constant hopes,
Where our futures are bright
but so far away,
This time of life
is where we're grasping to stay.
Just young kids walking
watching the sun set,
thinking of these years
These years we'll never forget.
