Take Another Swig

As you walk in with a full box of beer,

sit on the couch and take a swig.

While you watch the TV and your granddaughter cries,

Go ahead and take a swig.

While you throw away your 5th can of beer,

As you yell at the person you call your spouse,

Go ahead and take swig.

As you stumble around and slur your words,

Go ahead and take another swig.

As your daughter locks herself in her room,

turns the music up real loud,

and tries to drown out the screams.

You're little girl cries herself to sleep every night,

and the last thing she thinks of is you

Taking another swig.

As you stumble around trying to locate your bed,

Go ahead take a swig.

As you throw away an empty box of beer,

Go ahead and take another swig.

And as you dose off to start another day,

Go ahead and take one last swig.

Because when you come home tomorrow

with your full box of beer,

you'll just end up

Taking another swig.
