Reflections in a tear [kyrielle]

by Elynnka   Dec 5, 2006

Today the silver moon shines bright
Being a guide for us at night,
Stars flicker on the velvet skies -
Sapphire tears in my weary eyes.

My thoughts reflected on the lake
But here I'm safe from my heartache,
Sheltered away from sordid lies -
Sapphire tears in my weary eyes.

The winds play their sweet melodies
As they go through the scattered trees;
Waiting for the beloved sunrise -
Sapphire tears in my weary eyes.

When the golden rays touch my face
I start to feel not out of place,
Angelic memoirs now arise -
Sapphire tears in my weary eyes.

Outlined gracefully by the sun
As a new day now just begun;
You know that my love never dies -
Sapphire tears in my weary eyes.

A Kyrielle is a French form of rhyming poetry written in quatrains (a stanza consisting of 4 lines),
and each quatrain contains a repeating line or phrase as a refrain (usually appearing as the last
line of each stanza). Each line within the poem consists of only eight syllables. There is no limit
to the amount of stanzas a Kyrielle may have, but three is considered the accepted minimum.

    Beautiful job and style. I may try to this format. Sounds fun. The whole poem was strong and nicely written except for the second line of first stanza and second line of fourth stanza.

    Excellent poem. Keep it up
