A Sight That Killed My Heart

by RicaLo   Dec 5, 2006

Whenever I saw you my heart would jump
High into the clouds above
Your touch sent chills throughout my body
And I thought that it was love

I thought that one day you would see
The love I had for you
I hate to say that I was wrong
I never thought this thing would be through

I walked into the classroom
And saw the other girl
I never would've imagined
That she was part of your world

I left the room for a short minute
To bring you back a snack
But when I returned and saw what I saw
I felt the knife slice deeply into my back

You were all over her
Kissing her and smiling
My happiness dissolved as I witnessed the event
How could you be so beguiling?

My heart was crushed as she started to laugh
My soul began to wilt
Sorrow and despair took place of the love
That my own inexperience had built

I wish that she and I could change places
So you could hold me in your arms
But my own stupidity has led to heartbreak
As I fell for your boyish charms
