Shadow of a Prince

by Romantic Lover   Dec 6, 2006

I'm lying in bed
On a cool autumn night
Gazing at the stars
Sparkling so bright

My eyelids feeling quite heavy
And about to fall real soon
A shadow floats by
As I stare at the moon

An image slowly appears
His muscled body so defined
Facial features amiss
Or to that I must be blind

This faceless man
Appearing each night
When outside its so dark
But to my world he brings light

Entering my room
Running his fingers through my hair
I feel a sudden jolt
I jump to find no one is really there

Who is this mystery person
Appearing only at night
What does he see in me
Who is my shining knight

This stranger of the night
Who enters my dream
He occupies my heart
Or so it may seem

I'm lying in bed
At the end of each day
Awaiting my prince
Who takes my breath away.
