Is It Passion

by Twisted Heart   Dec 6, 2006

Is it passion that now guides us, as we move as one,
Lost in an embrace as we watch the setting sun.
Two lips that met and held the hope of all that we could do
Will it be that passion that will break ourselves in two.

It started with a tender kiss that held us in its grasp
But as you wrapped me in your arms, i felt it wouldn't last.
A touch that held me wanting for a moment lost in time
Now drives me to distraction as passion fills my mind.

My breath is caught, as my heart now skips a beat
And inside grows a hunger that I so want to release
But though your hands hold knowledge of what you do to me
I put up a resistance and shun your company.

To give into these feelings may bring to me a smile
but I know that they will only, sustain me for awhile
Then just as quickly you will go, and leave me here alone
With the fading memories way after you have gone.

A passion that's consuming, now fails to satisfy
The grip that holds me wanton with no form to testify.
I'll see the brink of madness as I try to overcome
The haunting of the thoughts, of what I have become.

So even though, we think, we will pass the given test
Love is not required for the passion we confess
It'll hold us for a moment then will leave us broke and lost
So I have to ask you, is the act, really worth the cost?

This poem i can easily relate to.
Once again, as i read the words, i found it almost like a song, the rhythm was done so well.
However the only thing i stumbled on was the last two lines. The very last line put the rhythm off a tiny bit but it's nothing very serious. Just a glitch. It's most probably the speed and tone in which i was reading. But just thought i'd point it out anyway.
Back to poem, brilliant imagery in this one. The words you chose were excellent and make this piece stand out from others on the same subject.

I accidentally hit complain on somebody's name who put a comment on mine, and I wasn't trying to but it might have been you, I am so sorry if it was. I was trying to click something else and it hit that. They won't suspend my account will they? I hope not...
Sorry again if it was you.
