One Last Time

by Rebecca   Dec 6, 2006

Breathing in the dark air
Shivering from the cold that I cannot bear.
Sitting all alone, I feel so dead
Memories flowing and engulfing my head.

Broken tears flow down my cheeks
Your presence is fading, becoming so weak.
Your words embed my burdened mind
They were always so soft, delicate and kind.

You left me here to bathe in my pain
But I feel you through the silent rain.
I yearn to be with you every day
But you are in heaven and I am here to stay.

My chin trembles, my head aches
I fear my life is at stake.
The longer I am away from you
The more I want to be in heaven, too.

My heart feels so lost and hollow
A sharp pain of grief is sure to follow.
You see, time is running out for me
So I take a moment to just breathe.

One last silver tear, one last thought
One last time to think of the times we have fought.
In one last breath, I will see you soon
Once again, we will be together, to gaze at the moon.
