My Children

During this time where I'm feeling down
I look to my children to take off my frown

I see their little faces light up when I walk through the door
They come first in my life and are what I live for

Though their daddy's not around and I know I sometimes show
That I am sad and hurting since the day he let me go

But even when I dicipline them they don't stop loving me I'm all that they got
No man can come first before them I can never be bought

They make my life whole they take away the pain
They give me a reason to not live in shame

They are my heroes the inspiration I need
To move on with my life to help me succeed

    Awe. This is very sweet. I am glad your children have given you the strength to carry on. It is so hard to deal with a broken heart. I bet this poem will one day touch their hearts. Good luck with all you do.

    Well im not even old enough to even dream of having children but this poem was really sweet and i am sure your kids look at you as just as much a hero as you do them. and i am sorry about the father but you have them and they can make life a lot brighter. i love kids. but an excellent poem 5/5
