All For the Corps

by Brandon Johnson   Dec 7, 2006

I have lived my life
As a Marine should
One shot, one kill
And death before dishonor

I made it through boot camp
And instilled a sense of pride
I had some before I left
No its more intertwined

Every breath I breathe
Belongs to the corps
I owe it everything
Till I'm laid into the earth

I got my stupid stamps
Just like everyone else
Tattoos that say I'm a Marine
But I still believe what they say

After a few years
Some Marines lose their pride
There sense of belonging
To the best frat nation wide

They complain about their leaders
And what a bad deal they were dealt
I think you get what you give
And thats what makes me stand out

I love to hear about Iwo Jima
And the fight for Belleau Wood
About General Chesty Puller
I think everyone should

I love the Marines, with everything I have
But messed up my leg
Now I can't stay in
Hows that for Irony

Only one thing is for certain
From here on out
No matter what I do or where I go
Ill miss wearing my Eagle Globe and Anchor

Goodnight Chesty, where ever you are.

Although I'm in theARMY, I got to give my respects to marines as well. My grandfather was a marine. It had a nice flow and for those who wouldn't understand how a marine feels, they'll have a much better insight now
