In a world of Criticism

by Karl Wild GG23   Dec 7, 2006

I heard it's whats on the inside that counts,
But I never really had a care,
I wanted beauty in large amounts,
A cute ass and long blonde hair.

I was a young foolish boy,
Who cared what people thought,
Looked at love as if it were a toy,
And ignored everything I was taught.

I went after the cheerleaders,
Girls who were popular and cute,
Not the mediocre student council leaders,
I gave those girls the boot.

But deep down I liked those girls better,
Although they could only be a friend,
Because on my jacket I had a varsity letter,
And from teammates I'd never hear the end.

I was the star football player,
And could've had any girl in the school,
So I never looked past a girls first layer,
Instead chose love like a blind, selfish fool.

Made fun of fat girls and nerds,
In the hallway with the guys,
Belittled them with our words,
Today my actions I despise.

I thought when high school ended,
So would this cruel and ignorant game,
But in a world of criticism and T.V. so splendid,
I've realized the bullshits all the same.
