All I Can See (the holocaust)

by xXx Allison xXx   Dec 7, 2006

I take a long look around,
And all I can see,
People being taken,
Everyone but me.

My sister and brothers,
And cousins, too.
All the people I know,
No longer at school.

I don't really remember
What life used to be
Everything I knew,
Long since left me.

I have to wear a Star,
To set me apart,
A six pointed symbol,
A dagger in my heart.

I take a long look around,
And all I can see,
People are missing,
Everyone but me.

Strange soldiers take them,
To who knows where,
Mom says a camp,
Full of bad air.

I'm not sure where to go,
Maybe I'm stuck up here,
My dad built a secret room,
To save me from the overseer.

Every time I hear a noise,
I think that I"ve been found.
But another line of friends,
Has been shot to the ground.

I've seen my mother shot,
They took my daddy away,
But all my siblings work,
And my neighbors were led astray.

I take a long look around,
And all I can see,
Soldiers shooting through my wall,
Barely missing me.

I see the soldiers faces,
They can't believe I"m alive.
I've been living here alone,
Without food or drive.

They take me outside,
I know what's going to happen.
They lead me to a pole,
And ropes, how hard they tighten!

I take a long look around,
And all I can see,
People being beaten,
Everyone, even me.

It's just so.. Touching,More than just a sad story. I see a soul in the story, and, that is not very often i see someting like that.
