Sammy

by hayley williams   Mar 24, 2004

You write a thousand poems,
but no one wants to look.
They don't care what its about,
or even how long it took.

They don't care that your feelings,
are sprawled across the page.
You know it shouldn't bother you,
but it fills your heart with rage.

You invite them into your mind,
show the world inside your soul.
Once you begin to write your poem,
you quickly lose all control.

You don't expect people to lie,
or always say that you are great.
But you would like some feedback,
for the poems you work hard to create.

Then Sammy you reached out to me,
and said my words made an impact.
I had to take a step back in awe,
not knowing how i should react.

You can never imagine how i felt,
when you said that i was your idol.
See i am nothing special,
just a girl who was once suicidal.

I write about depression a lot,
so most people don't get my style.
But meeting you in chat tonight,
made my every struggle worthwhile.

For you to understand my work,
I think you probably feel the same.
I hope i don't make things worse,
for when i write thats not my aim.

I'm glad that you reached out to me,
so sweet to let me know i inspire.
You kind words really warmed my heart,
Ill be here if there's anything you require.
