She strums alone

by Melissa   Dec 8, 2006

I do not own exquisitely worded phrases
that could possibly explain why
my foolish heart is strumming

another tune
from her subconscious,
those moronic thoughts taste everything
especially what needn't be licked at all

And tonight I am starved for attention,
as my fingers bleed their acoustic dreams
from a solo song in dire need
of beating this heartbreaking denial
that still sings about gentleness

even after the petals are all gone

I don't even know where to begin. You create the most soothing picture with your melancholic words. The last line is absolutely heart wrenching. Keep it up~Holly

This is so symbolic-it says so much more on each reading.I hope things are better since last we spoke.Don't look so hard for love, sometimes it finds you when you least expect it.I absolutely LOVE the last line-perfection!

    Peace, Love, Poetry, & Power,
