Forgotten Love

by Naerwen   Dec 8, 2006

Standing alone into a mirror clear,
Watching my dirty sins disappear,
One step closer I rise above,
Taking this one chance to please

Gazing into a pool of lies,
A girl stares back with hollow eyes,
Fading slowly she dies within,
Her body waning with its strife

Try to pull a smile to her,
Congratulate her for the labour,
Yet a face so pale and sick,
Does not incline the invite

Whispers from a family room,
Dictating a fate for a our little girl,
Unworthy for a place to high,
Just above the dirt and grime

Standing alone into a mirror clear,
I watch myself disappear,
One step closer I rise above,
To earn her forgotten love
