Enslavement to the Emptiness

by Naerwen   Dec 8, 2006

Enslavement to the Emptiness,
A treaty my mind signed,
To embezzle the laws of consumption,
Every provision will pass my lips,
Yet none will I let digest

Inadequate contours of this form,
Rouse the prodigy from within,
To rectify the hopeless fault,
Merciful curtsy to inner behemoth,
Eradicate the devoured plague

Torturous merriment in theory,
A perilous pursuit for perfection,
While suppressing any recollection,
A soundless proclamation to achieve,
Fulfilment through reckless abandonment

Hostage to my own irrepressible appetite,
Indulge glorious refinement,
Strive to saturate the emptiness,
To then anticipate certain indignity,
Amend the disgraceful enactment

Infatuated with my hunger for love,
Substitute the absent adoration,
With a surrogate tender deception,
Deprived of sibling splendour,
Self approval submerged by loathing

Bound to my mother love imitations,
To satisfy infinite need for validation,
My life’s cuisine never full of nourishment,
But of purposeless uttered bile,
Inescapable slave to the hollowness

Enslavement to the Emptiness
