The Fragile Princess

by Naerwen   Dec 8, 2006

Dancing with her shattered dreams,
She prances on the jagged pieces,
Protruding glory from silk skin,
Long umber hair does flow freely

A lonely figure in a shadow world,
Where happiness is only brought,
By the song of a dying hunger,
Lovely bones in her empty crypt

From a distance her majesty of slim,
Does resemble the wilting ivy,
Silent light steps in her winter world,
Leave not a mark on a perfect scene

Watch the pretty bones dance,
Beneath the hand of our princess ill,
Fading in strength but not in beauty,
Rise up to a throne of hollow lies

Look deep within her darkening eyes,
Beyond the frail face of a siren,
A weeping child not seen a summer,
Suffering in a cold whisper

The beauty of a fragile princess,
Comes with a painful price,
To walk a skeletal world alone,
Your slender splendour my lady

Is your only escort.
