Dreams And Nightmares

I have dreams that I'm flying
Soaring high above the clouds
Nightmares where I'm crying
Where happy endings never quite work out

Days that I find myself
Wishing to be someone new
Nights that I am found
Hoping tomorrow won't quite be so blue

Smiles that can hide
That can hide so well
Laughter can make all the pain inside
So hard to tell

It's too easy to let a secret slip
So I must remain this way
Remain away from another close friendship
Remain in hiding so that what's left of my sanity may stay

Now you must keep in mind
I am happy, not always down
I'm not upset all the time
And there are times that I find myself standing on the ground

But I'm not always happy
Although that's all you see
But that's how I want you to always know me
As the girl with someone to be
