Used & Alone

by ALEX   Dec 9, 2006

Competing with the competition,
You trip. You fall. You stumble.
They leave you sitting in the dust,
And yet, you're still not humble.

You're chasing things that aren't quite true,
But you don't understand.
Yet I'd still come to help you out.
I'd offer you my hand.

So you get up, get off your knees,
You say I bring you luck.
I'll tell you what you want to hear,
But without me, you're stuck.

And I say she's one too many.
You say she's just one more.
But you know, I know what happens,
Hidden behind your door.

It's like living in a house of glass,
I know what's going on.
And though I know you'd like it,
I am not your Pawn.
