My Friend

Has been a while, my long lost friend.
I've missed you greatly. Where have you been?

There are times when I think of your smiling face,
the moments we shared, and your half-hearted grace.

Recalling the simplest pleasures we shared.
Reminiscing of memories for which we once cared.

And now you have stolen away from me friend.
I feel that I've lost you. Oh where have you been?

Do you miss me my friend? I truely miss you.
A face to face meeting has been long overdue.

I'm finally here, to see you my friend.
I've traveled the world and explored every end.

Am I finally worthy? Can I stay for good?
I've done everything that a good friend should.

What is this place? It is heaven you say?
Tell me more my friend, tell me more I pray.

You say you had left me for all of my sin?
You say that you did it, so I may live again?

My friend I've missed you, and your half-hearted grace.
But finally I'm happy, here in this place.

    Great job. I loved this. It made me kind of sad though. It's like the feeling of losing something very special. Keep on writing.

    I liked this one and i normally find it hard to find something i can relate to in these kind of poems and the thing is, i can't quite my finger on what i can relate to in this, lol

    "What is this place? It is heaven you say?
    Tell me more my friend, tell me more I pray."

    I loved that couplet thought. The whole poem had an almost magical flow to it.

    Omg, This poem was so graceful even though u said you have no religious background. It was awesome i don't know how to put what i need to say in words LOL.
