Mommy, I'm Sorry...

by Brianna   Dec 9, 2006

Mommy, I'm so sorry...

I thought it was harmless;
Everyone picked on Chris.
Never could I have comprehended
How it could so easily come to this...

There was blood on the floor and desks in the halls,
Screams echoed on the hard concrete walls.
I suffered in silence as I watched my classmates die, one by one,
To the floor, like cheap rag dolls.

That shiny piece of steel gripped tightly in his hand...
I just didn't understand,
Why those life-taking bullets were enveloped in the case,
How long had he had this planned?

When made him drop his books on the floor,
The more upset he seemed, we'd laugh all the more.
We was a bit different, his clothes were tattered and worn,
And by condemning him for that, a greater evil was born.

He came into school, the morning air was thick,
I saw the look in his eyes, it was dark, so evil and sick.
He was more battered-looking than ever before,
His voice sharp as an ice pick.

Mommy, I'm sorry that I said those things to him,
I'm sorry I made him cry.
Mommy, I'm sorry for going against everything you taught me,
I'm sorry that I made us all die.

Mommy, I'm sorry, I'll never come home again,
I'm sorry for telling Daddy I wasn't his baby girl.
Mommy, I'm sorry that I didn't clean my room,
And I'm sorry for taking that car for a whirl.

He took the gun from his coat,
Held it to my throat.
He told me I'd be sorry,
For all the time it was his pain I helped to promote.

I begged him to stop, told him that I was wrong,
Told him I was sorry for hurting him so long.
He wouldn't accept it, told me it was too late,
Resting his finger on the trigger's prong.

He began to pull the metal back, I heard something click,
The cold steel's metal felt so slick.
"This is all your fault," he said,
Then it went off with a flick.

The crack echoed in my ears and I felt the hot blood pouring down my skin,
I felt so weak, so frail, so thin.
He tossed my body to the floor, Mommy,
And I let him win.

Two more people fell to the ground in the school,
The blood dripping from the stools...
Mommy, I'm sorry for what I did
We were all such fools

Mommy, I'm sorry that I said those things to him,
I'm sorry I made him cry.
Mommy, I'm sorry for going against everything you taught me,
I'm sorry that I made us all die.

Mommy, I'm sorry, I'll never come home again,
I'm sorry for telling Daddy I wasn't his baby girl.
Mommy, I'm sorry that I didn't clean my room,
And I'm sorry for taking that car for a whirl.

Mommy, I'm with Jesus now,
I appreciate the ten years
That you took care of me.

You've gotta move on, forget me now,
Don't shed anymore tears,
This is how it was meant to be.

Mommy, I'm so sorry...
