I cant breathe

by Nikki   Dec 9, 2006

I gasp for air to fill my lungs
To enrich my power within
Send it coursing through my veins
And lift me up again

I imagine my life as it should be
Full of promise and loving whispers
Sweet smelling, intoxicating, warm
What if I had never been here?
Would the world have a void?
Would you?

My beautiful wings cant lift me above this place
It keeps me quiet shhhhhh be still
Why am I whispering? Am I ashamed?
Ashamed of whom I have become?

The expression has gone from me
I think of a far off place that is laden with milk and honey
Where my senses are awakened to life
Smell changing landscapes, know your love, feel your breath and see my reflection smile.
