Ghost of a fairy-tale

by Hannah Emellia   Dec 9, 2006

The kingdom cheers,
For their new queen and king,
Laughs and tears,
Happiness- a beautiful thing.

But every story has to end.
Fairy-tales and horrors alike.
No more flower gardens to tend,
And no more dragons to fight.

You say they'll always be with us,
But, take a second look.
It's no longer perfect...
It's just a simple book.

A ghost of a fairy-tale,
Imperfect- yet still the same...
Their life was a fairy-tale,
But then the killer came.

The killer isn't in the stories-
He's in you and me.
The killer is adulthood,
And he changes what you see.
