Bedtime Story of Dwarves

by +Purple Sky+   Dec 9, 2006

Upon entering the forest,
You will find you're not alone;
Spirits hover in the darkness,
Drawing you into their home

Gazing up above the trees,
Sullen clouds begin to rumble
Feel the night in its unease,
So enraptured that I stumble

Seduced by ghostly mystery,
Enchantment fills the air,
Twisted fingers lure my soul,
Into their haunted lair

Whispers taunt my evening walk,
Telling me of hidden trove;
I succumb to its sly talk,
And search further through the grove

A lightning bolt diverts my eye,
Etching the night with firy lace,
Feel powerful enough to fly,
As I become part of this place

Espy a cave not far ahead,
The rain begins to pour,
Doing as the voices said,
I prod the ground a little more

Dazzled eyes behold a gem,
Nothing ever looked so fair;
I shall hide it safe from them,
For it seems extremely rare

Something beckons to me slowly,
In the entrance of the cave;
Struggling to leave it lonely,
Hypnotized now by its wave

Overpowered with temptation,
Stepping through the evil door;
Perhaps only returning,
Cloaked in silence evermore...
