Aiming for the Subpar

by AGirlWorthFightingFor   Dec 10, 2006

Aiming for wherever
my talent takes me
I am a leaf on the wind
My sky is blue
My world is colorless
Maybe I will be
Somewhere by the end

If you're full of sh*t
You can give it all
and still never get it
Better to be true to yourself
Even if you're a piece of sh*t
Atleast you're honest

No one's perfect
Stop trying to be perfect
I'm in it for the journey
along a lost highway...
Is that pretentious?
We're not prophets
but the trash of this society

Bare your crosses
Split a piece of wood
and I am there
collecting garbage
Collecting souls

To analyze
Over thoughts of better lives
I just hate to say goodbye
to all the junk and lies
that have taken me years to find
Gathering dust
on my bedroom floor
Aiming for the subpar
the second best
and nothing more

Thats an honest poem. It tells the downright truth about the world works and how some people can only go for second best and not to be a "piece of sh*t", that they need to look at themselves for who they realy are and what they can go for in life. I liked it, I know different people get different meanings out of poems when they read them. Keep writing!
