Raven Born

by Jemma   Dec 10, 2006

Dark times in a melancholy whisper
A foretelling of secrets still unknown
Forgotten history paraded
Long lost in time, in me

Where light once shone
Through glittering eyes
Now comes overwhelming doubt
True sincerity underestimated

Where others are slain in murder
And rise again to meet life
I am doomed to stay amongst them like shadows
Coated in eternal insecurities

Nothing is sure and that's all that's certain
So important yet negligent
So memorable yet so easily forgotten
Lost in a heartbeat, as is my life

For no other can pass my way
See my horrors, feel my pleasures
Yet my stories are told
But they're not yet understood

From early times the dove flew
Silent for truth was not lost
And the echoes of the song still swam in the air
But now the dove is silent again

Though the song was long overran
With the dream that once started our worlds
Fear with the doom we place upon ourselves
And it is now my words that fall through the air

Haunting through ethereal knowledge
But it's just what I know that I say
And you in naive incomprehension
Damn me
Damn me to darkness
Parade me in darkness

Doves long fled the barriers
And the dark gave birth to my name
And though there are many misunderstandings
The lament of the raven came forth
So memorable, so easily forgotten
