Dances of December

Dances of December

The cold winter breeze
wraps around my shoulders,
I look around for warmth
turn my head to see you
at the corner of my eyes
But did you notice?

A spirit of love needs no physical touch
yet then I feel you come up behind me...
slip your hand in mine and hold me close
Then. I know. Your here for me once more.

The ground your feet flow on
the rhythmic beat of the music
I take your hand and pull you gently
and ask if you'll dance with me tonight.

When you breath,
or look at me
I feel my heart
captured by your love

Then...it begins to rain...
and you pull me in closer
we dance with droplets on our skin
our hair damp from December rain
I look up and gaze into your eyes
to see you expectantly smiling back
I kiss your soft lips and know
Even in your silence, you enjoy it.
Even in remission, you love me.

Oh, let me be it
Let me be the one you love
love me just like this.

In an embrace, my heart rests at peace
Knowing your mine and I am yours
through Summer walks to dances in December
I have shared with you a love none can redo.
Seeing through the months that have passed
every moment you gaze or hold me is unique.

And with love in my eyes I'll remember
every soft embrace and dance of December.
