The Kiss

by crystal   Dec 11, 2006

He smiles awkwardly at her.
Trying not to show the fear inside.
They both want to make the first move,
but neither have the courage.
He leans in.
She backs away.
She leans in.
He backs away.
They look into each other's eyes
both thinking the same thoughts.
Having the same dreams,
loving one another dearly, and
Scared of the same things.
They both listen to each breath made
by one another and then all at once
close their eyes, move closely, and kiss.
It happened they say in their minds,
open their eyes, smile shyly, turn their heads away
and again feel the same feelings.
Think the same thoughts and love one another dearly.
No longer scared but relieved.
