The Face of Nature

by Renee   Dec 11, 2006

The Face of Nature

There's no makeup on the eye
that follows the steps of passer's by
who trip along the way;
to a never ending destination.

It's a sort of stimulation:
how we stumble through the day.

No lipstick on the curves
which speak of an earthly kiss.
And though we litter on those lips,
they whistle with an appeased tune.

The locks hold no spray,
no gel to control the waves
but they crash upon the shore
of a rosy-cheeked bay.

The skin is not soft to touch,
but rough with guilt and age
of which she embraces and accepts.
She finds no fault in our mis-steps;
only a remedy.

-*-inspired by a quote from Henry Ford - "don't find fault...only a remedy."

    Great poem, Renee.
    I haven't seen your work in such a long time.
    I'm glad to see something again, I almost forgot how beautiful your words were.
    Take care.
