I Love You Mummy

by Gem   Dec 11, 2006

Small feet pad around the cold lino
With no real meaning,
Just don't wake the sleeping
Beast in the next room.

'Why are you sad today mummy?'
I would put my arms around your neck
And hug your troubles away,
But you don't let me close anymore.

I watch from the stairs, alone now,
No brother to comfort me.
'Please stop shouting,
Its all my fault, I'm sorry.'

I'm sorry for the noise.
I'm sorry about the monsters.
I'm sorry for your pain.
I'm sorry that its raining.

Am I losing you in this darkness?
Hold my hand, I will help you find the way.
But please don't leave me,
I love you mummy.
