One last kiss

by Nikki   Dec 11, 2006

Below the starry midnight sky
The world has nothing to fear
But if you listen carefully
Thats pain that you now hear

He was too late to stop her
So he steals one last kiss
And vows to never leave her side
You see their story played like this
.....

Once upon a time
In a land not far from here
A prince was racing through the woods
To find his lover so dear

His love could never find the words
To explain the pain inside
Dragging the blade across her skin
Her scars shes forced to hide

The moonlight fell upon her
As she stretched out her arm
The dagger shines gleefully
Ready to do her harm

The tears that once would not fall
Now flow freely from her wrists
Resting back on a bed of leaves
She waits for deaths sweet bliss

Her prince arrives and desperately
Tries to stop the flow
But as he searches for a pulse
His princess, she lets go

For hours it seems he holds her
Just praying she will come back
He strokes her hair, and keeps her warm
But its life that she now lacks

As memories of a love just lost
Flood back into his mind
He scrambles around her body
Pain's cure he tries to find

He snatches up the dagger
And holds it tight in his fist
Longing to be free like her
Their story now ends like this
.....

Two bodies lie together as one
On earths warm, welcoming bed
But although they may seem lifeless
Their love is far from dead.
