Never meant to be ( Ugly Child )

by Naerwen   Dec 11, 2006

From a Mothers flawless womb,
An imperfection now lived ,
A monstrosity to behold,
The ugly child was born

Nothing was as hideous,
As this devil childs face,
Not that of mother beauty,
Or that of sister splendour

A failure in looks and wit,
Never to uphold familys name,
How can a troll swim with swans?
A defect from birth now life

This freaks child tried its best,
To please an enraged mother,
Dress up pretty and a smile so crooked,
Gave everything into satisfying her

Poor monster child indeed,
For all she ever did for mother,
Was never going to be enough,
To make up for the ruptured face

In the depths of a broken heart,
There lay the child so cold,
No tears to weep for mother dear,
No words to say to gain her love

The beast within the beautys,
Destroying their hard earn grace,
With one blink this child ruined,
Every chance of being perfect

Cast asunder by its mother,
Forsaken since that ugly birth,
Only greeted for a moment by sun kisses,
Rejected by all around and near

Dearest Ugly Child,
No matter how your efforts go,
Nothing will ever rid you,
Of your curse that is your face

Child now, in the night,
While laying once more in heart,
A whisper so faint begins to resound,
'You were never meant to be'
