They say never lose your dream
Yet they always tell you what to do
How to think, how to act
How to be everything but you

They'll tell you to strive for goals
Then say you'll only fail
They'll tell you how you'll never make it
You're just a ship that will never sail

They'll tell you to never lose hope
Then only talk about the end
And say that nothing will ever change
They think how silly of you to pretend

They'll tell you to have an open mind
To imagine and create
But oh how stupid of us to think
That our creation will be great

They tell you to be kind to others
But they'll turn their back on you
They won't stop until you're done
And completely torn in two

So I ask you now dear people
What is this that we say?
Telling others how great they'll be
Then turn our hearts away

What is this evil that we do?
We see it all the time
All I can really say
Is that we have crossed the line

They say to never lose your dream
Yet they try to make it new
Make it better, more acceptable
Make it everything but you.
