Gone Through Time

by Weeping Wolf   Dec 12, 2006

Gone Through Time (Still Love the Sea)

the howl of a wolf\'s past spirit
forthcoming touch of chilling snow
first kiss of raindrops on my tongue
slipping sensation of tears on my cheek
the morning dew mixed with sand on my feet

the soft hand linked with a friend
a dream made real from beginning to end
an ancient piano heard with distant waves
darkness becomes comfort in forest caves

A flute playing in the wind
ocean mists which stain my skin
seashells shuffle in my pocket
a picture in a golden locket
tears of a lover on christmas morning
young heartache and a companion's mourning

Greatest sadness consuming, stale despair
then healing into happiness, wings on air
lustful pride and recklessness, wild risks
regrets worth it all, mistakes left unfixed.

Tender and secret walks in a childhood park
experiencing the thrill of life in the dark
The waves calling, threatening, pleading before me
So I spread my arms, sing out, laugh and leap...

I've been filled to the brim with memories
I've been carried and dragged through life
running against the tides that bravely face me
I rush in full force, forgetting the price.

For I've gone through the ages of time...
from winter love to innocent summertime.
like the rings of years around a tree
scars on my body and heart still remind me
what a spirit can endure, and still love the sea.
