Lost Father- Found?

by Jessica   Dec 12, 2006

Dear Father,
Where are you?
Why don't you
Even bother

To let me
See you
What hurts me
Lately, is everything you do

You pretend
Thats love you send
All you send is the smell of beer
Bringing my eyes to a tear

Rip apart my old hero
That was dear ol'
Dad- he's gone.
Lost and done

His body still remains
Making me want to wait untill
His old shoes are filled- but its only nothingness
Only emptiness

Empty is what you are
As you get into your car
Drive off drunk
You hit that poll with a thunk

Why couldn't you see
You weren't just loosing me
You lost what was left of you
Your soul has nothing more to do

I see a shimmer off some
I shake my head feeling dumb
I thought I found my father
The one who always had time to bother
