Life Behind the Glass

by .K.i.T.t.Y.   Dec 12, 2006

Peering off into the distance,
Of a snow covered window,
Sat a child,
In silence.

Watching the sun set,
Beyond the snow covered hills,
Wishing to run free,
Beside her friends.

To taste the snowflakes
Melting against her tongue,
To feel the soft snow,
Falling through her fingers.

To build a snowman,
With a carrot,
Scarf,
And hat.

To have wars,
Girls versus boys,
Behind powerful forts,
Beaten by snowballs.

To run free,
And fall into the snow,
Creating angels,
With white halos.

But she can't,
For what she lacks,
Is the ability to run about
In the snow,
Like all the normal children do.
