When A Songbird Sings (Tetractys)

by Bryan   Dec 13, 2006

Your
heart sings
to me, like
a songbird on
a willow tree, It casteth its shadow
on my heart, and like a puzzle it was
torn apart, when
you look in
my eyes,
the
look
you give
it tells me
goodbye, and my
mind tells me your wrong, but my heart still hears
that beautiful song, that makes my heart sting,
the love that it
brings, when a
songbird
sings.

Tectractys is a style that is composed of 5 lines with a syllable count of 1,2,3,4,10.

double Tectractys is 1,2,3,4,10,10,4,3,2,1.

a triple 1,2,3,4,10,10,4,3,2,1,1,2,3,4,10

and so on...

I like coming across a style that I have not often read on this site but also the poem itself is very unique!
This one defenatly deserves a 5/5. you really get the idea you are there, and can picture the songbird singing!

I don't know why it doesn't have more comments, I love it! It's not a style usually seen on the site and I like that. Great job, and congrats again on coming in first! :)
