Message to the slow of Mind

by Michael D Nalley   Dec 13, 2006

Message to the slow of Mind

Message to the slow of mind
Must I be cruel to be kind?
Slow of mind cold of heart
Truth is such dying art

Arrogant apes will whine
In the light of the divine
In spirit we may not hide
Or escape through suicide

The Wise man contemplates
Fools are sure of what awaits
It is boastful pride that insults
Humble faith that gets results

The justified say oh well
Believe as I do, or go to hell
He did not come for the winners
But for the repentant sinners

Virtues are seen as an enigma
It is decay that produces stigma
Steadfastly take all God has to give
Find the courage to go on to live

^ My favorite stanza. You ended this poem perfectly. To me, to have a great poem, you must have a wonderful ending and you certainly accomplished that in this poem.
