Never enough

by Tylor Dent   Dec 13, 2006

I remember awhile back when my father would always say.
ill be here for u every single day.
that moment on i thought i could belive that it was something that wasnt a lie.
but then he divorced my mom when i was nine.

He said it wasnt my fault he just stopped loving my mom.
I still kept think it was my fault that i did something wrong.
but i remember prayin every night that my dad would come back to us.
and i remember that wish never comin true i was crushed.

I remember when i was 5 he taught me how to ride a bike.
he said lets take these training wheels off and do it right.
and he said hed hold on till i told him to let go.
he said and when u want the training wheels back on just let me know.

I remembe when i was 6 and wed throw the football back and forth.
he threw it to me under hand only becuase i was little and short.
and i remember going to coach his football games with him it was so fun.
and i remember doing the drills with the players with them id even run.

i remember when he wrestle with and he always let me win.
and i remember racing him in the yard hed give me a 5 sec start before hed begin.
and i remember when i was 8 and hed drop me off at school.
i remember him askin me for a certain tool.

and the more i remembered all the things we did when i was just a kid.
now im a teenager and all i do is get in fight when people flip my lid.
and all my dad does is gives me lectures on how i should steer my life.
he tells me wats wrong and wats right.

we dont bond like we used to back then.
and if i had the choice id go through all that again.
i get to see my dad only 1 every month.
and i can never change anything cause everythin i do is never enough.

This is true my dad left when i was 9.
