Perfect As Ever Before

by A New Beginning   Dec 14, 2006

The beauty and the looks
And extensive knowledge from books
Are some good qualities this girl had
But she thought all she had to be bad
To her she was ugly and fat
And she couldnt take that
She thought, in school, she did bad
Even with the 3.9 GPA she had
Nothing she did was ever good enough
Making every assignment twice as tough
Then one day she decided to let it all go
To try and forget everything she knows
Drastically her good grades began to drop down
And never smiled, always with a frown
She let her education slip
With her old life, she lost her grip
Failing everything but still didnt care
To her old grades she couldnt compare
Teachers questioned the problem she had
And why her grades were becoming so bad
Not ever knowing what to say
She just bowed her head and turned away
Every night her parents asked her too
After so many questions she was through
It was now time to continue her lifes turn
The part that made her stomach churn
When her meal was finally done
To the bathroom she would run
Behind her back, she closed the door
So she wasnt visible anymore
Locking it, now the door conceals
Her motion to the toilet, beside in she kneels
Holding back her beautiful brown hair
She gags herself, as if without a care
Removing the nutrition that she needs
The food on which her body feeds
In the toilet every meal goes
And not one person but her knows
Daily she repeats this routine
As her expression becomes more mean
Her eyes begin to hollow out
And she gets too weak to even shout
Her body becomes sick and white
She is no longer such a beautiful sight
Her hair becomes dead and dries
And the beautiful blue fades from her eyes
Her face becomes skinny and pale
Her entire body, oh so frail
But to her she still isnt and was never any good
So she continues, why wasnt understood
She starts to lose her strength and will
Slowly, herself, she begins to kill
No longer, on her own, able to stand
She cant get up without a hand
Hiding her loss under baggy clothes
So not even her careless mom or dad knows
Finally she went to far with this
And now, she is someone to miss
She got to weak and couldnt awaken
In her sleep, she was taken
God reached down and took her weak, fragile hand
As her lifes hourglass dropped its last grain of sand
Taken away to her perfect place
In heaven now, with all of Gods grace
Now as perfect and ever before
She wont have to hurt herself anymore

This was such a naturally written poem - like a story, or a thought, completely unaltered. you made a terrible truth so beautiful. amazing poem.
