Dusty Clothes and Loving Prose

by Bill Turner   Dec 14, 2006

Dark red dust clinging to my shoes
Emerging from the badlands of my life
Cracks of my hands filled with dried blood
Crevices of my mind holding darkness past
I may have lived my life too fast

Blending into the landscape of today
Gunslinger written in the lines of my face
Carrying the weight of days gone by
Shaking the dust from my clothes
Pouring myself into prose

I have succumbed to your love
Giving myself to a life of passion and desire
No longer drifting with winds that blow
Anchoring myself to a ground graced by you
Hoping to show you love in all that I do

As my world changes before my eyes
I marvel as you guide me with pure love
Holding me in your arms when darkness comes
Enveloping me in a blanket of love and kisses
Finding that the lord has granted my wishes
