Let It Rain

Today my heart sings solemn prayers
For our memories of forgotten years
Shadows of truth before my eyes
For I can't see her one last time
Pieces of me scatter these winds
Our family torn from every limb
As silent regrets dance free in my mind
What I wouldn't give for one last time
Like pearls of ice, tears fall today
Hollow and empty in every way
With claws I scratch at my own hearts pain
And beg the Lord to let it rain
What will be tomorrows price?
Another long and sleepless night?
Another scar my soul will gain?
And again my heart pleads, let it rain
Today I cry this poem aloud
These words so foreign from my mouth
As time devours this endless day
Free my tears fall with the rain.
