Left Just Enough

by *Charisma*   Dec 15, 2006

We had our ups and downs, good and bad showing
But when the going got tough, you got going
Instead of trying to help us make it through
That was the last that I ever saw of you.

You packed up my dreams in the back of your car
Forgot my love, but you stole my heart.
This empty house says I shouldn't even try
But you left just enough to keep me alive.

Foolish me for thinking someone could actually care
Enough to stay longer than the burdens I bare
When you said "I do" you meant, "I might."
Now it's just me and this sleepless night.

You packed up my dreams in the back of your car
Forgot my love, but you stole my heart.
This empty house says I shouldn't even try
But you left just enough to keep me alive.

I wish you had taken every memory that we own
But now they're reminders this place was once a home.
Pictures to tell me I was never good enough
Why'd you leave pieces of me, when I want to give up?

You packed up my dreams in the back of your car
Forgot my love, but you stole my heart.
This empty house says I shouldn't even try
But you left just enough to keep me alive.
