Lifeguard

by forsakendisaster   Dec 16, 2006

I strain to reach a lifeguard's hand

To rescue me from this

Swirling pool of madness

The weight that each wave crashing down

Slowly eroding my very being

Pushes me down a little deeper

And with each intake of this hate,

It drowns me a little more with sadness

I can't hold my breath much longer

I frantically reach for that lifeguard's hand

Just when I start to give up

Let this water flood my lungs

Steal away everything I worked for

He grasped my hand

Pulled me up from that deep abyss

And taught me to never give up...
