I Know Now

by Sarah Ann   Dec 16, 2006

We held hands at the carnival,
Ate ice-cream as I flirted with the salesmen
And you playfully hit me,
But I knew you were jealous.

Your friends chose to bring their girls
But they looked so far away
And it was then, so soft and simple
Where you promised you would stay.

We happily spun around until we were dizzy,
Went on the twirly ride five times!
And when I felt scared,
You held my hand.

Or did you hold my heart?

Behind those gleeful smiles,
Were there malicious grudges?

And when I cried, lain in your arms
And slept,
You said you will keep me forever.

I know now what that meant.

((Sorry this didn't rhyme or anything. I just felt like writing something.))
