Forgiving

by Sam   Dec 17, 2006

I'm setting here thinking
All about my life.
Those twenty years
I've been your wife.

We were so young
And went through a lot
But we made it through
Because of the love we got.

I know I've pushed you
And drove you away
Now I need to face it
It was your heart I betrayed.

Im hoping someday
To win back your trust.
Don't sweep my love away
Like yesterday's dust.

If I could get get
Just one more chance.
I'd prove my love
Through time and romance.

You did so much for me
Day after day.
To toss you away
Was how I would pay.

I hope someday
We can forgive and forget
I know it's not now
I won't ask you yet.

I want you to know
That I have thought it through
It is your heart
That I hold true
