Glare

by T Michelle Smith   Mar 26, 2004

As I sit in the dark
Awake to the sound of a clock
With the scent of your cologne
And visions of us alone on a dock

As the moon glistens & falls on the crest
I feel your hand barely brush against my chest
The sound of saltwater sizzle rings through my ears
And I open my eyes, soaked and filled with tears.

For I am not at the ocean
Just in a dark box
Forbidden thoughts of you
And feelings hidden behind locks

I close my eyes again
And reach for the key
Suddenly the wind blows my hair
And a sense of calm overwhelms me

For it is your face before mine
As you grasp my cheek with your hand
This kiss, I’m losing grip
If it weren’t for the grit of the sand

At this moment I am relaxed
With every muscle so free
My chest is getting tight
For making love is soon to be

Your breath warms my neck
As I place my fingers in your hair
To look into your sea blue eyes
I am traumatized by the glare

The glare becomes blinding
For I am fighting for sight
As I feel you pull away from me
I grab your hand ever so tight

At this moment I feel the waves
Crash against my lips
And taste the saltwater
As down my face it drips.

For again I have awaken
With the glare of the sun
As my fantasy dream fades
A new day has begun.

I know that there are many people who can relate to these type of dreams. Please comment and vote to let me know what you think of my expressions.
