Only One

Too many days I run away
From the thoughts that flow into my head
Like a river, ever rushing river

Of love, bonds and need
Of thinking of you and me
Hoping so badly

You're my shelter, always-be-there shelter
I want to hold your hand through our darkest days
I hope we never break away

When I'm crying, lonely, softly, crying,
You find me when I'm lost
In those scary days and

I wonder if my heart will freeze soon
I want to brush all the charms off
I can tell you know who I really am

Who I am...
I'm a child, simple, loving child - I am still innocent
I'm a lover, full-devoted lover, loving you deeply - so deeply

You take my hand when I am scared
You show me that you're there
You tell me that you care - to me, you're everywhere

Walking on a road to the future
Can't turn back, you've gone too far
Getting to a river, river into my heart

And we're crossing a bridge, a bridge of no return
The ropes begin to burn and we're holding on for God's sweet grace
Can you see the fear on my face?

You pull me tighter as the bridge sways, planks falling down
Telling me to never let go

I whisper, "Can't you see you're taking me
Far beyond reality
