Whistful Winter

by *Charisma*   Dec 17, 2006

Glistening lakes freeze with the cold
The sun can't break winter's hold
Animals silent in their forest homes
Not out 'till spring when they'll roam

Chimney's puffing out the fire's breath
Warming families from cold's death
Little frost pictures on the window
Leave glimmers of light shining on snow

Icy red noses, mittens and gloves
Warm mamma's kisses filled with love
Building a snowman, with beady eyes
A smile on his face, a sledding ride

Hot chocolate and cozy bonfires
Long nights spent talking about life's desires
Moments captured in winter's delight
Keep me thinking of these all though my life
