The Shadow

by geeeeee   Dec 18, 2006

The shadow beckons me forward
I am drawn to take a step
But fear will not let my body move
I edge to the side
And I fall helplessly to the ground
At the mercy of its power
The shadow of darkness
Etches, draws a white door
In amongst the blanket of complete darkness
I see each time I close my eyes
When my mind is free of dreams
I slowly stride forward
My heart is racing, in overtime
A hand, as cold as ice is held out
I have the urge to grab hold of it
I reach with caution
It draws me in
And walks with me through the door
All past insecurities are left behind
In the world of the forgotten
As I stare into the shadows eyes
I see myself staring back
My fears are at heart
But I will defeat them
With my shadow by my side
My journey does not end here
Indeed it only begins
As I enter a whole new world

How well you have described Death.

My heart is racing, in overtime
A hand, as cold as ice is held out
I have the urge to grab hold of it
    I reach with caution
    It draws me in

    Excellent. Wonderful imagery. dear.
